Today is Thursday, June 5th and I’m ready to get out of school. I love the teachers but 10 months of work is a bit to much for a slacker like me. We’re getting out on the 12th, but since I’m a 8th grader we get out on the 11th, Wednesday. Anyways, we have 6 days left and we only have three more school days. Tomorrow, we have a field trip to an amusement park and then we have the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Right after that we will receive, dare I say, freedom, in a sense I suppose.

The worst part about summer is going to be that right after it we’re going to High School. I don’t about you guys, but I didn’t do to good in school this year and supposedly if you don’t get good grades in High School you won’t go to a good college. So, I gonna have to try to get straight A’s throughout the year.

But back to the subject, this summer I’m got two priorities: beat my brother in a one on one, cause I talked a lot of smack that I could last time he called, and spend as much time as I can with my family. Because, I only get to see them during the summer, and that’s just not enough. But, that’s the only time we get to see them and we savor it as much as possible. It’s just we live in Costa Rica and they live all the way in California and that got some distance. On the other priority, it’s going to be really hard beating my brother at basketball especially since he was on the varsity team in High School and he got better and I’m a Middle Schooler who can barely play, but I’ll get in his head, somehow.

On Wednesday, we played our the biggest game of the basketball season, it was for the championship. We led to this game UNDEFEATED, but I guess since we were that good we had to be like Patriots, yup we lost. We didn’t get dominated and we tried almost our hardest. I’m saying that because if we tried our hardest we would’ve won. The main players were Ian, Santiago, DJ, and maybe even me. Although, I made my share of mistakes. But, I think if we did win the game it would’ve been because of DJ. We were losing in the 3rd quarter by about 15 points, I think. The first half his mind wasn’t really… “set” like it always is. Nevertheless, in the second half he made these two threes that made our team get our heads in the game. We finally got the lead of a point with less than a minute still on the clock. They stole the ball and they made a lay-up. They were in the lead a point and they stayed at that lead till the end of the game. It was our hardest loss for two reasons; we never loosed and it was the Championship. Sadly, this was our year to win. Since most the players are in 8th grade there will only be four players from this year’s season playing. Those are Austin, Peter, Daniel, and DJ. DJ will be the one leading everyone next year and I’m glad because, in my opinion, was our best player.

Well guys, I hope you people on the basketball team will shave your heads like Ian, DJ, and me.

I don’t know if anybody has been watching the Playoffs but the teams still in are the Lakers, the Spurs, the Celtics, and the Pistons. The Lakers are playing the Spurs and the Celtics are playing the Pistons. Both series are at 3-1, one for the Celtics and one for the Lakers. And while I speak I’m missing the Lakers game so I gotta finish this up. I’m hoping the Championship will be between the Lakers and the Celtics, if so I’m going for the Celtics.

Well my friends, I’m doing right now what probably two or three other people are doing at this time. Doing this blog at 9:45 pm this Thursday evening. It all started after school. Italics are past tense.

I’m going to the busses and I can’t wait to go to my friend’s house. I’m going on his bus thinking, “Whatever, my homework will only take me what? Two, three hours. Whatever, no worries.” The bus’s engine just turned on and we’re leaving the school. I’m talking to him about how basketball is better than soccer for obvious reasons and things like that. We had a 20 minute bus ride. Now we’re here at his house. We’re walking in and he’s asking me what we should do. I just say whatever he wants to do. So we’re going to the living room so we can play Halo. We’re starting our match and time is sure flying by. We played for a good three hours. He’s turning off the game and I’m hearing my mom come by. I’m going downstairs and I’m getting in the car. I got home 10 minutes later. I’m going to my computer so I can do my literature paper, my blog post and my script. Well, you know what I’m not going to do my homework just yet. I feel like watching some Youtube videos. I watched videos till 9 o’clock. Oh crap! I gotta get my paper started. I’m opening my laptop and starting my paper. I can’t think of anything! This is gonna take a while. I took 45 minutes to do the paper, now present time. I still have yet to do my script and somehow get some sleep.

If you’re an 8th grader reading this, you probably know that we went to Manuel Antonio. If you don’t you’re pretty clueless. So, we left on the bus at 6, Costa Rica time. In other words, we left around 6:30. We spent a two hour bus ride to get to this place where we could either to Canopy or Superman. I did the Superman. Before we did the one of the two activities we ate breakfast; we just ate a ordinary Costa Rican breakfast. When it was time to do the Superman i had to wait about two hours before I could go, because they had to get three-fourths of the people in their harnesses before we started; that part was pretty dumb. Any who, we were to lay on a mattress type thing and get latched on a cord horizontally. They would pull you back and release you. You would be “flying” in the air about 150 feet-200 feet high on a wire maybe quarter mile long or more. After I went I had to wait another half hour or so for the rest of the people to go. Then, we walked around a bit, ate a lunch buffet. We left and had to take another two hour bus drive to Manuel Antonio, it took three because it was raining. We got there at night time, put our luggage in our rooms, and ate dinner. We had a choice of chicken, a burger, and spaghetti. I had chicken, sadly, since almost everyone ordered a burger, I got my food after half of the people were done. But the chicken was good the end. After, we went into the hotel’s pool and chilled for a while. The next morning, we had another ordinary Costa Rican breakfast and went on another two hour bus ride to go White Water Rafting. I was with Richard, Diana, Michael, Andrea, and Mr. Rodriguez. Richard and I both fell out once. We stopped by this really awesome area where there was this waterfall and you could go right underneath and get pounded by it. Of course that would be unsafe unless we had helmets, which we did. So after we finished we ate lunch, there was macaroni salad. When we got back to the hotel, we went to the beach, because it was two blocks away. We played a little football and went back. After dinner, we had a choice of fish, rice and chicken, and two other things, we had a fashion show. There were two honorable mentions to DJ for his amazing modeling skills and Brandon for his exquisite artistic skills. The 3rd was Hyrein, 2nd Marian, and 1st Brady. The next morning we went to the Manuel Antonio National Park to rake leaves. But, after we got to go to the beach in the National Park. It was an amazing beach but with a few too many rocks. Later, we went on the bus ride back home and we got there on time, Costa Rican time, two hours late.

Tomorrow, Friday April 25, I’m going to Wyldlife Camp at La Montaña. From what I hear it’s going to be a pretty awesome experience. We’re going to have the time of our lives and do lots of awesome activities. The camp is going to be from the 25th to the 27th. We get home at 12 so we can do our homework I guess. Four of my good friends are going. In other news, I had a math quiz today. I didn’t ask my grade but I’m sure it’s pretty dang good. During the test, I felt that it was easy because I studied and I tried hard. On my last test/quiz for math I got a barely passing grade. So I’m pretty excited to see the grade I got at school tomorrow.Well, I have to have 250 words in this post so I’ll keep rambling on about events in my life. Yesterday, Wednesday, we, the basketball team, played a game against Marian Baker School. They put up a real hard fight but ours was harder. By the end of the fourth quarter the scores were tied, I don’t remember the exact numbers. So, we went into overtime. What got us the win was our defense, they got one easy shot but that’s about it. The best players of our game were, of course our point, Ian, our shooter, DJ, and our two big guys, Diego and Santiago. I would advise looking at their blogs. I’d like to thank you for reading this, it means alot to me.

Wilt Chamberlain, in my opinion, was and still is the best player in the NBA. He was born on August 21st, 1936 and died October 12th, 1999. If you were to compare any player to Wilt Chamberlain in his prime, they would be no match. Michael Jordan’s highest points per game record in a regular season is 37.1, that’s a truly amazing feat. But, Wilt Chamberlain’s is 50.4. That means that he made 50 points every single game! For any present player in the NBA, it’d very close to impossible for them. I’m guessing you guys have heard about his record of points in a game, yup the big 100. No one will be able to top that anytime soon, the only person who has gone close to it is Kobe Bryant, and that was 81 in a game. Wilt Chamberlain was unstoppable. He was amazing in the paint, even when people were on him. Even with his slenderness, 7′ 1″ and weighed 275 lbs, he could take to the basket. It’s obvious why people consider Wilt Chamberlain a legend and the best player in the NBA. Because of his dominance he even caused new rules to be made like they had to widen the lane, offensive goaltending, and you couldn’t jump in a free throw, he jumped backwards when he did them.

Freedom means to me exactly as it states on Ms. Rumford’s blog, “The condition of being free of restraints.” Freedom isn’t real to me. Being free of restraints? That’s purely impossible. No matter where you are there will always be restraints; Cuba: can’t be rich, Home: parents. Imagine if there was freedom in our world. It’d sure be wild. Here’s a better picture of freedom, a world without laws. Without our laws that hold our society together everything would be chaos. As a blogger the ounce of freedom that we really get relates to me by letting me know I can express my mind as long as I don’t cross the line. The things we can’t do are only so limited. As a class we just can’t curse, bully, or post inappropriate things. If we weren’t a class we would be able to curse and bully, so it’s a pretty fair deal. Since we do have that ounce of freedom, as bloggers, our possibilities of saying things are endless. The definition of endless, “Being or seeming to be without an end or limit; boundless: an endless universe; an endless conversation.” As bloggers, are possibilities don’t seem without and end or limit, but they are.

Basketball, it’s greatest sport in the world. You can dribble, block, cross, fake, pass, lay-up, fade, do a jump shot, hook, alley-oop, and last dunk. Even though I’m not as good as I should be for playing as much as I do I get better every day. It’s so much different than all the rest. It’s not like golf where you walk around hitting a little ball for two hours. It’s not like soccer where all you really do is kick, throw, trick, and block. It’s not like tennis where you can’t do a million different things do get a score. Basketball’s action never stops, it’s 32, 48 in th e NBA, or 40 in NCAA, minutes off pretty much not stop running, shooting and all that junk. I guess I can say I’ve committed myself to basketball, I practice four to five days a week. It’s such a sport to me I quit my last passion for it, and that was swimming. Don’t get me wrong, I love swimming, but I didn’t want to do it two hours a day I had to. For all those people who think I’m dogging on their sports, I’m not, just saying how basketball is a wee bit better than all of them for me.

Now on the subject, yesterday I went to my favorite place to shop, Champs Sporting Goods. You can probably guess what it sells. My dad got me two really cool things, a brand new basketball and a brand new Allen Iverson jersey. The basketball I’ve been using is seven months old, so it’s not in tip top condition. But, this new basketball that I got is very high quality and is new. Allen Iverson is a basketball layer for the Denver Nuggets, my favorite team. He is the third highest scorer per game in the whole NBA. The funny thing, the person in fourth is his teamate, Carmelo Anthony.I also tried new food, I went to good old White Castle. It’s weird, you know how McDonald’s and Burger King sell one burger a person, at White Castle they sell 4-6 per person. The number 4 was for a group of people and sold 20! Yet, they are so scrumptious, delicious, and any other adjective that makes it sound really good. Another place I went to for food was the Cheesecake Factory, I went right after White Castle so I was full. When I got there I just ordered a cheesecake. When it came no one else had any food so I waited 30 minutes, o man those were some hard 30 minutes. When I started eating it it was to rich for me to eat it all, now it’s in the fridge waiting for me. Thanks for reading this post, means lots.

During Spring Break I tried a new “sport”, yeah it’s obviously bungee jumping because that’s the title. It was super scary, that’s because I was looking down. I gotta tell you, that was a bad idea. I stood at the ledge for five minutes and went back out and said I wasn’t going to do it. They told me, the two guys who helped me get psyched, I could do it backwards, so, I went out and I knew that was even scarier. I came back out and said I was going to do it normally. Then, I went to the ledge and they counted, “5, 4, 3, 2, 1, JUMP!!!” Guess what I did, I jumped. It wasn’t scary, it was great. I wasn’t flexing my body so I was very um….. loose. When I flew up I was feet first, scary, so I did a flipped over and came back down. I also did this rocket launcher thing, here is a video, sadly not me, of the bungee jumping and the rocket launcher. The video was done where I did it.

No I didn’t do those sick flips in the rocket launcher though.
